youth choir

The Primo Youth Choir at Insole Court rehearses every Thursday during term time at 6.00pm . These 40 minute sessions take place up in our music school on the top floor of Insole Court. The choir is suitable for Primary aged child, Year One and above.

No audition is required. Similarly, no previous musical or choir experience is necessary – just a love of singing. The choir explores a diverse range of styles from popular classical via jazz, gospel, rock and musical theatre.

The choir is led by music graduate and Primo teacher, Anna Stonehouse .

Whilst the children will be engaged and absorbed by the music we learn, they will also be develop a strong basic singing techniques with a focus on good posture and breathing.

There are regular, exciting opportunities for choir members to perform. However we are mindful that parents have busy lives and keep these performance opportunities convenient for parents in terms of duration and location.

adult choir

The award-winning Insole Court Choir is a non-audition choir which meets in the Drawing Room of the Main House at Insole Court, Llandaff, Cardiff from 7.30pm until 9.00pm every Thursday during term time. It is a collaboration between Insole Court and The Primo School of Music.

Its members come from all walks of life. Some are experienced singers with strong music reading skills whilst others just enjoy to sing or are returning after singing as a child and/or young adult. In short, we support each other and whilst the emphasis is firmly on fun and self-development, the choir has won cups at the Cheltenham Festival for Performing Arts on two separate occasions (2019 and 2022) singing a wide mixture of music from Sacred to Musical Theatre. We love variety, but if there is a common theme, it’s that we like to sing music with strong melodies, beautiful harmonies and poignant lyrics

You are most welcome to call in on a Thursday and join in, but please get in touch via our quick contact form to let us know you are coming.
